Dear Brothers,
I hope this newsletter finds everyone happy, healthy, and ready for summer.
The house remains strong, which is a testament to the maturity and leadership of our active brotherhood and the continued support from our alumni. The year finished on a high note with the induction of 25 new wonderful bothers into Eta Chapter after a successful pledge process.

We congratulate our class of 2025 graduates and are appreciative of their contributions to the house during their time at The University. We wish them the best in their endeavors after graduation and look forward to their continued support of the house and participation in alumni events.
Our active brotherhood had several highlights during the 2024-2025 school year including starting members of the Varsity Lacrosse and Varsity Squash teams, successful fundraisers for the Waterboy Foundation and Norma Livingston Foundation, and active participation in student leadership. Our current DKEs set the standard for academic and social achievement at the University.
I would like to use this newsletter to congratulate Thomas Bloebaum, our Boree in 2024, and the rest of the actives on a job well done throughout the year. They have navigated the past two semesters safely and successfully while still enjoying their time at the DKE house and hosting successful social and philanthropic events. I would also like to congratulate Pryor Sullivan, our new Boree for 2025, on his election. His leadership has been strong through his first five months and we look forward to working with him to maintain the high bar of student leadership set by Tommy and past Borees.
Although we had to cancel our spring golf event due to inclement weather, 2024 was a smash success and we raised $7,500 for the Bob and Em Green Scholarship. The event was held at the Old Trail Golf Club which provided excellent accommodations. This event has become a highlight of parent’s weekend for the actives. It provides a wonderful annual opportunity for our actives, their parents, and the alumni who attend to bond over wayward tee shots.
The focus for the alumni board continues to be the upkeep and maintenance of the house. After supporting over 30 years of camaraderie and fellowship, it was time to redo the front deck and seating areas, and that work was completed in the fall of 2024. Additionally, we completed necessary bathroom renovations across the house. We continue to work diligently with our partners at HRC to provide a house that complements the strength of our active brotherhood and stay ahead of necessary maintenance and upgrades.
Aside from providing exciting updates about the house and our actives, I write this letter to our alumni in hopes that we can continue to count on your strong support for the house. The foundation of our strength and status on Grounds is the significant alumni support we receive from across the country each year. It allows us to keep the house in good standing, continue the successful recruitment of new members each year, maintain our position as a top house at the University, and host alumni events.
With that in mind, we specifically ask for contributions to the Bob Green Eta Alumni Fund. As many of you know, Bob’s generosity and friendship have touched countless members of our brotherhood, and we will continue to honor him through this fund. This account provides for the contract with Alumni Hall every year, and covers the expenses involved with newsletters, invitations, fundraisers, reunions, and other communications. Financial support for this account is vital as it provides the fuel for our Board to operate and is responsible for the bulk of our annual transactions.
The Charles Hill Jones House Maintenance Fund is specifically dedicated to the upkeep and maintenance of the house. These reserves are also critical, as they allow us to keep the house in top form both internally and externally. Charlie has been our principal financial donor for the last 30 years. He was the biggest contributor to our capital campaign, and without him we would not have been able to construct our addition to the house after our 150th Anniversary. He was also responsible for the renovation of our basement into bedrooms to accommodate our growing brotherhood. His generosity has kept our house in excellent condition for decades and we hope many of our brothers will join us in stepping forward to keep the account on strong footing in his honor.
Any gifts are meaningful and appreciated. We are grateful for your continued support of the Eta Chapter. This house owes so much to all of you, and we extend our sincere gratitude.
