With the fall semester ending, I wanted to provide a few updates on the Eta chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon. We have had another great year, successfully growing our chapter to one of the fraternity’s highest membership levels in recent years. After the formal rush process this past February, we welcomed seventeen new brothers, including three athletes, to the brotherhood of Delta Kappa Epsilon.

Our chapter’s influence extends beyond our own members as we have worked together to make an impact on the broader community. This fall marked a new chapter in the philanthropic partnerships DKE works with annually. The Eta chapter partnered with the Chris Long Foundation: a charitable organization focused on providing clean water and education to underprivileged children. In early October, our fraternity hosted the first annual “Dunk-A-DKE” fundraiser. Together, we raised over $2,000 for these children.

In November, a group of ten brothers from the Eta chapter entered the Will Barrow Memorial flag football game to honor the late Will Barrow and support the Harlem Lacrosse Project. Team DKE came out of the tournament victorious, beating the teams of the Naval Academy and our own UVA lacrosse team. Additionally, with a collective effort from all brothers to continue our fraternity’s long-standing support of the Will Barrow Memorial Foundation, the Eta chapter contributed a large donation.

We look forward to welcoming the next class of brothers into Delta Kappa Epsilon in the spring and continuing our commitment to growth, philanthropy, and community impact.

In the bonds,
Scott Martin (ʼ24)
